Brian Peterson

Brian Peterson has a lifelong passion for athletics and fitness. While growing up in Bexley, Brian played numerous sports but quickly found football was his favorite. He excelled on the football field while at Bexley High School. He was co-captain of the 1997 Bexley Lions league championship team and earned First Team All-State honors in 1997. Brian attended college at the University of Dayton before graduating with a B.S. from the University of Kansas.

After college Brian worked as a veterinary pharmaceutical sales representative for 9 years, but he never lost his passion for athletics and fitness. In 2014 he had back surgery for a herniated disc, which had plagued him since 1998. After successful back surgery, he wanted a new fitness challenge and he began CrossFit. He immediately fell in love with the workouts and the community aspect of CrossFit. Not only did CrossFit make Brian more physically fit but it made him mentally stronger.

In early 2017, Brian got his Level 1 CrossFit Certification and began coaching at CrossFit Clintonville. Helping other people achieve their fitness goals has been a rewarding experience for him. Outside of CrossFit, Brian enjoys yoga, road biking, reading, and hanging out with his dog Ricky and his wife Catherine.

Madi Rohl

Madi was introduced to CrossFit by her dad, Mike, who started at 52 years young. After decades of a sedentary lifestyle and working long hours in a high-stress job, CrossFit changed Mike’s life by giving him the community support and motivation to show up to the gym multiple times each week. Madi saw the difference CrossFit made in her father’s life and had to give it a try in the summer of 2012.

Since then, Madi completed her CrossFit Level 1 certification in March of 2015 and enjoys using her fitness in and out of the gym. She is currently finishing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at The Ohio State University. Regardless of human or animal, she sees the value of health in creating the life you want.

Coleman Simeral

Inspired by his lifelong experience as a multisport athlete — as well as his interest in the human body’s natural state of moving — his goal is to empower people to achieve their fullest human potential. With the reception of his MovNat L1 certification in 2014 Coleman embarked on his new life path of personal training and sharing the wealth of intuitive human movement. Coleman was introduced to CrossFit in early 2017 and quickly became a CrossFit Level 1 (CF-L1). CrossFit’s focus on health, fun and working towards a lifetime of sustainable progress through practical methodologies is what has drawn Coleman in from his very first class.

Coleman also holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Ohio University. Amongst health, wellness and design he is a lover of all things outdoors, adventuring and of course eating donuts. Lots of donuts!

Amy Sandel

As a kid, Amy competed in both softball and dance.  She has always made fitness and staying active a regular part of her routine.  When she was introduced to CrossFit in 2011, she never looked back.  Although intimidated to use a barbell at first, she quickly grew to love the sport – especially the weightlifting aspect of it.

Amy began coaching over five years ago.  Her biggest motivation is helping others not only improve their health, but improve their confidence through fitness.  She is continually inspired by the success of her athletes.  Amy is certified as a CrossFit L2 Coach, USA Weightlifting Coach, and CrossFit Strongman Coach.  She is also CPR/AED certified.

Daniel Walter

My journey to Olympic Weightlifting and Crossfit started in 2011, when I started at the original Rogue Fitness affiliate in Gahanna.  As I went through my first week, I knew right away that the Snatch and Clean & Jerk were going to be among my favorite movements.  I decided to get my CF Level 1 Certification in the summer of 2013, and began coaching at CF Amplify in Illinois for about a year.

We then moved back to Columbus in summer 2015, where I have currently been coaching at CF CLC in Worthington for over two years and training as a Weightlifter, with an occasional WOD every so often.  In the meantime, I have competed in 5 Olympic Weightlifting meets, competed in several Crossfit competitions and participated in other events such as the GORUCK.  I look forward to helping the CF Bexley community grow and reach their goals!

Jason Hayes

Jason has had a passion for athletics his entire life.  He was a standout football player and track and field runner at Reynoldsburg High School where he earned All-State honors in both sports and is the school record holder in the 100m dash.  While studying Sports and Leisure studies at The Ohio State University, Jason returned to his alma mater to coach for the next 10 years.  His last two years of coaching, the girls track teams were state champions.

Jason has made a career out of fitness working as a corporate fitness manager, NASM certified personal trainer, and group fitness instructor.  He discovered CrossFit while looking to change up his strength training routine. He obtained his CF Level 1 Certification in September 2017 and has been coaching since August of 2018.  He enjoys the variety of workouts of CrossFit and the community feel that CrossFit Bexley has to offer. In his spare time, Jason enjoys woodworking, golf, and spending time with his wife Jamie, 6-year-old son Jake, and their yellow lab Hunter.
